Green tea has become known as the most healthy tea to drink. There are so many health benefits from this tea like weight loss and skin care. There are many different green teas. These are classified by where they are harvested and what part of the plant is used. The main tea plant is called Camellia sinensis. Japanese and Chinese green teas come from this plant.

Though they both come from China, there are differences between the Chinese and Japanese green teas. Most of the differences between Japanese and Chinese green teas is because of how they are harvested and what part of the tea plant is used to make the tea. China was the first place to make the tea. They grew the plant and harvested it. A priest brought the tea plant to Japan. The art of harvesting the plant and making the tea was taught to the Japanese. Green tea is the main tea in both China and Japan.

The Japanese wanted to make the best tea. They learned how to harvest different parts of the Camellia sinensis plant to make different teas. The Japanese have several different types of green tea. It comes from the same plant, but has been grown and harvested differently. This is why some teas cost more and are more flavorful.

There are numerous types of Japanese green tea. One type is called Gyokuro. This is a fine, expensive tea. The leaves to make this tea are grown in the shade for twenty days. The name for this tea means jade dew. This was decided because of the pale, green color of the tea. The shading causes the amino acids and caffeine to increase in the leaves. This causes a sweeter taste in the tea. It also has a distinct smell.

Kabusecha is another Japanese green tea. It is often called Gyokuro tea, but may be a little less expensive. Gyokuro tea is the finest and most expensive tea in Japan. Kabusecha tea is also made from tea leaves grown in the shade, but the leaves are not in the shade as long as the Gyokuro tea leaves. It has a delicate flavor.

Sencha tea is the most common green tea in Japan. It is made from leaves exposed to direct sunlight. Fukamushica is a form of Sencha tea. It is formed when the Sencha tea is steeped two times longer. It has a deep color and rich flavor.

Japanese green tea has many different varieties. The Japanese have perfected the art of tea making. The Chinese green tea is also good and healthy for you.
